Cheers Deer!

A glorious spring day at last to bring cheer .... and deer.

Once I saw the sunshine today, I couldn't stay home! My son and I went for a drive and saw the most beautiful blossoming trees.

Nearby there were deer roaming through the same neighbourhood...one seemed to be fixated on a sign. ;)

My sore leg is improving slowly, although I am not able to walk for any length of time without pain. I have had my prescription for antibiotics renewed for a further week, and am being treated for Cellulitis. Back to the doctors next Tuesday for a follow-up. The sunshine is lifting my spirits :)

Tomorrow we are planning to attend an Art Gallery Studio Tour.

  1. I can see why it's fixated - why is there an elephant on a deer crossing sign?

I can sympathise with painful walking, hopefully it will ease soon. Take care, Mo

  3. I was kind of playing an April Fool's joke on the deer ;) The original sign is a list of house numbers, but I tried to think of something different to cover it up with! I found the elephant/deer sign by googling.

I am amazed at how painful this leg has been, especially when I thought it wasn't anything too serious. I'm sure it's on the mend...it'll just take a bit more time.

Hi Flighty ~ Just a bit of fun ;) The blossom was just beautiful against that blue sky.

  4. Well you had me well and truly April fooled Glo ;) I was going to ask exactly the same question as Mo and Steve!

So pleased you are having a nice Spring day, it is dull and windy here today but fairly mild.

Lovely to see the Daffodils on Monday's post and I enjoyed the Scavenge Hunt on Wednesday, I was looking forward to seeing how you coped with the Lion, I thought you might have difficulty with that one but should have known better! When you told us the list of challenges a few weeks back, I asked my husband what on earth I would do about the Lion if I was taking part and he said 'what have those people just down the road got on the pillars by their gates'...duhhh! ;)

Glo, I love your little Varied Thrush on the last post but what a strange name, Varied I mean not Thrush! I thoroughly enjoyed reading the info on your link and listening to the bird but what an incredibly odd noise, it sounds like a referee's whistle! I wish our birds had such distinct voices, that way I might be able to recognise more of them :)

  6. Hi ShySongbird - Thanks for catching up with my posts and for leaving such a lovely comment. You're right about the Varied Thrush having a sound like a referee's whistle - I've often wondered about a description of the sound, and that's perfect. It can be quite shrill and very recognizable. Luckily there are sweet twittery birds as well to round out the chorus. :)

Hi Hilary ~ Glad to know you enjoyed the deer/sign ;)
