My swollen knee is back. I met today with a locum (as my own doctor is out of town) who prescribed some antibiotic tablets for what she diagnosed as an infection. I never take anything without finding out about side effects, the symptoms of which I immediately acquire upon reading about them, before any medication is taken. The side effects from this particular medication can be nasty, so I'm holding off until I go to an appointment I have scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. I will then consider whether or not I'm going to take them. In the meantime I have been using ice and at the moment have my knee wrapped in cabbage leaves...don't even ask.
Here is the little video from yesterday, and a collage of a Spotted Towhee that was checking out what might have been raked up yesterday... and a Varied Thrush.
Well, I've heard of cauliflower ears but never cabbage knees :)
ReplyDeleteHope you get it sorted. Mo
A very relaxing video.....get well soon.
ReplyDeleteMy mom does exactly what you do -- check the side effects first. Hope you get some relief soon.
ReplyDeleteI sympathise as I react badly to many medications so check first.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to tell more about the cabbage leaves! Flighty xx
Hmmm didn't you say that the knee started bothering you after putting a lot of pressure on it? Where would this infection come from. I'd be questioning going on antibiotics for that too. Whatever you end up doing for it, I hope you find improvement soon.
ReplyDeleteRelaxing video and sweet bird pics.
We got dumped on today.. by the clouds, not the birds. ;)
Hi Mo :) Well cabbage knees are quite unique ;) Explanation on current. I hope I have it sorted ~ time will tell!
ReplyDeleteHi Adrian ~ Thanks for the comment and well wishes. I really like the way the birds were flying overhead and wish I'd taken more video ~ Congrats on being one of the POTW at Hilary's!
Hi Nikki I think it's a smart thing to check the side effects ~ but with all the info on the internet anything can sound worrisome! I rarely take medication so I want to know what I am putting into my system so I can make an informed decision. Who was to know that fixing a dryer hose connection could cause such a painful result!
Hi Flighty - as I said above, I don't take any medications I don't have to, but sometimes things become obvious like my swollen knee! Read about the cabbage on my current post ;)
Hi Hilary ~ It's amazing what a person's own little bugs can do on the inside if they are aggravated! I'm hoping that this antibiotic will work so that I can get back to 'normal'. Once better, I will not take my knees for granted ever again!
Ahhh, cabbage leaves, memories from the past, they do indeed sooth places that need soothing.
ReplyDeleteI kneeded to come over to your blog a little earlier in the week Glo! I hope your knee is showing some kind of recovery by now. I would definitely take on the title of LOL for the time being! x
