More spring in the garden

I stayed home again today, having a wander around the front and back and enjoying the spring day.  I spotted the first Forget-me-not of the year.

Most of my recent photos have been taken in the front area, but this afternoon the sun was shining on the deck, so I spent some time checking to see how spring was doing back there. The birds are certainly flitting through the trees and bushes, much like the sun going in and out of the clouds!  A lilac leafbud was wearing a fashionable feathery creation which looked quite enchanting as it waved in the breeze.

Being out there reminded me that soon I will be able to sit on the deck for long periods ~ because no way in heck am I going to do any sort of labour that might incur another housemaid's knee or housemaid's anything else for that matter~ LOL will become Lady of Leisure!

I must be feeling more like myself because I baked banana nut bread.

  1. There's been lots of Spring going on in our garden too. I've been busy sowing over the weekend, and digging! My forget-me-nots are coming into flower too. Butterflies and ladybirds are emerging. My Dad would so love that Banana Bread! x

  2. It suddenly all looks so beautifully Springlike and colourful Glo! Your blooms are lovely. Your 'early bird' did look like it had eaten all the worms... and a few pies too ;)

The Banana nut bread looks gorgeous, I'm sure I can smell it ;) what sort of nuts do you use? If they are Walnuts I will be over directly...my absolute favourites :)

Your previous 'knee' post was really fascinating, I learn so much via blogging!

I do hope that knee keeps improving :)

  3. A wise decision, I think, to stay home and LOL your way through a few more days of enjoying spring at home! I love forget-me-nots! Hope to see more in your garden.

  5. Sounds lovely, Louise, and I know how happy you are when you are out in your garden. Nice to know we share many of the same flowers, and Forget-Me-Nots, although so tiny, are exquisite, I think. Better slice your dad a bit of the banana bread then, with a spread of butter :)

ShySongbird ~ When the sun shines, and the flowers have just opened, there is a brilliance that I just love. Yes, he looked like a chubby robin. They stand for awhile and then off they go pulling stuff out of the ground like crazy.

The Banana nut bread was good, and I usually use Pecans. I keep a bag in the freezer to keep them fresh. I love walnuts, too, but they don't seem to stay as fresh as pecans, and sometimes have those crunchy bits that haven't been removed :)

Glad you liked the 'knees' info. Mine is still sore, but not as bad and I'm hoping it will continue to improve without any further medication or treatment. I see the Dr. tomorrow.

Hi Nikki ~ Well, I was a LOL all today, really, other than a load of wash, some paper sorting and a stroll around the yard. No point in further irritating my knee. Yes, Forget-Me-Nots are very sweet and I look forward to them each year.

Hi John ~ I love spring flowers so I'm quite happy to wander about taking their photos. The feathery bits were fun, too...and seeing Nic's photo of the Heron...after looking at their interesting features, my eyes dropped to check out the knees ;) and there they were!
