Chasing rainbows...but finding foamy suds

A rainbow type day, with a mix of sun and showers ~ this is how the day started ~

and this is how it ended with a sunset (followed by a look at the Supermoon, through my binoculars and telescope which I took out on the front lawn)

but in between, I took loads of photos that I am working on now. Have you ever seen a bay filled with 'suds'? Well you will.... to be continued

Continuing on...

Although I began writing myself a response to the mail received yesterday, I stopped half way through as the day invited me outside...

Something picturesque in the rain:

...and then I came across huge loads of sudsy foamy herring milt! It looked like meringue whipped up and filled the bay. Many sea birds (and sea lions) were in attendance.

    That's a terrific looking sunset.
I sympathise about your knee as mine are rather creaky nowadays. Do take it easy and let it mend properly!

  3. I love your humour.. and of course your beautiful photography. How odd - that foamy tide.

  4. What a strange sight all the herring milt makes. It doesn't look very inviting for wading in or even for a paddle. A wade in salt water would do wonders for those aching knee joints. ;)

  5. Thanks Adrian ~ it was indeed a day filled with all sorts of things and I am more than happy to have shared it!

Hi Flighty ~ Thanks Flighty ~ a great day indeed, and the sunset was pretty. My knee is feeling a bit better today :)

Thanks Hilary ~ I'm glad to bring a smile or chuckle, and to share my photos ;) The foam was unbelievable!

Hi John ~ I wouldn't want to put any part of my body in that foamy stuff! But it didn't smell unpleasant, which surprised me. Water is still far too cold for wading in, unless you are a duck or other seabird ;) I know salt water can be healing and do enjoy having a walk along the edge or in tidal pools in warmer weather. Can't wait, in fact! ;)

  6. Oh, have you gotten some lovely views. Wondrous is the right word! I'm sorry about your poor knees and got a chuckle out of your letter and the "stamps" in new context.

  7. Hi Nikki ~ Glad you enjoyed the photos ~ and luckily it's only one knee, and it feels like it's improving. The 'stamps' were fun! ;)
