In and Out

Another bright blue sky to welcome the day. The cherry blossom buds are still not trusting the weather, and refuse to open into blossom.

After my magical day yesterday, I thought I better catch up with some household chores. Can't spend too much time away with the fairies ;) After lunch, I headed out to weed the rose garden. I didn't want to kneel down because of my recent leg episode, so I decided to take a low stool and bunny cushion.

I'm so used to kneeling when I weed that it took some getting used to, and I found that most of the time I stood and used a small, but long handled rake to help with the job. Up in the apricot tree, a bird was singing and I could see its silhouette. I took a photo, and while it isn't very clear, it appears to be a male House Finch by the colouring.

A pot of daffodils added a cheerful touch to the back garden.

The sky began to cloud over, but it was perfect for gardening.

When I was finished for the day, I noticed my little Yellow-Rumped Warbler friend high up in the oak tree. It was really hard to get a decent angle for a shot, but this is just to show that he returned today.

All in all, a productive day. There are a few more days of sunshine forecast, so I am looking forward to being out in it!

  2. Spring sure is unfolding in your neck of the woods. I like how you played with the daffodil image and turned part of the photo into butterflies and leafy tendrils.

  5. I need to pick your brains about Photobucket. I think I am missing something somewhere. Do you subscribe (pay) to get the effects you do Glo? I really like the daffodil in the heart. x

  6. Hi Denise - Thanks and You're welcome :) Yes, a big difference now that they've been cleared away.

Hi Hilary ~ Spring seems to be tentatively unfolding, and now with more sunshine and slightly higher temps, everything has a chance to proceed! I found the heart cut out frame in Photo Elements 9, and all I did was choose the frame, and instant butterflies and tendrils :)

Hi Flighty ~ Yes, it doesn't get much better than that (other than being able to kneel comfortably ;))

Hi Juliet ~ Your cherry blossom tree looks lovely :) Hopefully the longer mine takes to blossom, the longer it will last! I have two different bunny cushions that were given to me (outdoor fabric). Glad you liked it!

Hi Louise ~ The effects are not from Photobucket, but from using the frames in Photoshop Elements 9. I also have Photoshop Elements 5 which came with my scanner. PE 5 is the one I usually use for collages as it is quite a simple format. PE 9 has a few more choices and capabilities. Glad you liked the heart shaped frame with I saved as a .png rather than a .jpg. A transparent background can be saved that way.
