Studio Tour and Harzel!

The day looked promising so it was off to the Studio Tour!

On the way, I noticed that the local mountain seemed to have acquired even more snow.

What an interesting studio ~ such an eclectic place ~ what did I find but a secret location of all things Scavenger Hunt worthy! Here I have been searching high and low for items, and there they were all in one spot!

You know when you lose your marbles? Well here they are...

No doubt this is where all the odd socks hang out, too!

Also there seemed to be a cousin of Harzel with dangly bits ~

I became quite excited to check out the real Harzel because I haven't been to see the tree for some time due to my wonky leg. On the way home, I drove to the top of the lane and walked down to see him. Holy wending tendrils! He was just wild with abandon and decorated with delightful leafy twirls! But no dangly catkins, which makes me wonder if it is a Harry Lauder Walking Stick tree, or something different.

  2. Curiouser and curiouser - we will have to keep a close eye on Harzel's leaf shape. I used to have a couple of corkscrew willow trees but they tended to twist upwards not outwards.

  5. Thanks Adrian ~ the place was full of interesting eye-poppers, a genuine treasure trove of distressed finds!

John ~ I'm really puzzled now ~ I might go to a garden centre and check out their trees to see if I can find any leaflets that look similar Corkscrew willows sound interesting, too!

Thanks Juliet ~ Harzel and the mountain look terriic when the sun shines; it makes a huge difference. We have had a couple of coolish dull days recently and it's just not the same spring feeling! Come back sun!

Hi Flighty ~ It was a fun day ~ and Harzel's identification remains a mystery! Always good to have a puzzle to figure out, though :)
