More like it!

A brighter day today! First thing I noticed this morning was the fresh snow on the mountains! The temperatures are much lower than average, with temps reaching about 10C for a high, and dropping to 0C at night. On Saturday the forecast is for 17C!...and then dropping to 2C at night before April Showers return.

In the distance, across the rooftops:

Low tide was around 2:00 p.m., so after spending the morning organizing and taking items to the recycling depot, it was off to the 'rock beach'. It's such a fun place to walk, like a moonscape with tidal pools tucked into bowls scalloped out of large boulders.

Soaring eagles were visible ~ here's a young Bald Eagle (sub-adult)

An interesting .pdf article can be found on recognizing the various ages of Bald Eagles here.

I really enjoyed breathing in all that fresh sea air!

Once home, I noticed the back garden feeder containing black sunflower seeds has attracted a variety of birds including a first photo for me of a Pine Siskin.

A great day of productivity and relaxation :)

  6. Juliet - Yes, the mountains and beach are a great combination. The boulders offered pools that were waist high so easy to peer into and see tiny things moving about.

Flighty - You have had remarkable spring weather :) The pools are fascinating no matter what age we are, it seems. The pine siskin is a cute little fellow - glad you like him :)

Caroline - All in the same post, and seeing it all in the same day; a great opportunity to get out and about when the weather is like this. Glad you liked the photos. You have some terrific photos, and I am happy to visit, thanks.

Kathy - It is interesting seeing various parts of the world, isn't it? I'm pleased you enjoy sharing mine :)

Thanks Adrian. Bald eagles in flight look majestic - their wing spans are huge. Glad you enjoyed the post and photos.
