Gaggles, Gobbles, and Goodness Gracious!

We all headed out to the farm this morning to pick up the Khaki Campbells, which have now travelled safely and are settled in their new duck house.

I was fascinated by all the feathered creatures of various persuasions, and here are just a few:

The African Geese were very verbal until I started taking the video, when they became much more subdued!

  2. Love the African Geese. Unusual heads. Don't know why but they bring to mind a great aunt I was 'forced' to visit when I was about seven years old.

  3. A great bit of video. I was worried about my chin till I saw this. Did you get a picture of the ducks face forward?

  5. Hi Juliet ~ the farm was a-flapping with all sorts of feathered creatures. Quite the experience.

Hi John ~ Yes, they are unusual looking creatures, and the comment about your aunt made me laugh. Funny how occasions like that stick with us!

Hi Adrian ~ Glad you liked the video. They were loud geese, and one sounded like a cow! Of course they quietened down when I started taking the video. Gives you some idea though. I don't know why I didn't go behind the people, and take a photo of the heads of the ducks! I will have to visit them in their new home.

Hi Hilary ~ I guess they have an interesting heritage - cross between a Chinese goose and a swan of some kind...and they're quite large! Interesting looking creatures, and I was mesmerized.

  7. Hi Flighty ~ The peacock and his mate are the 'royalty' of the farmyard, apparently! They strut around as if they owned the place.
