Where has the week gone?

I walked to work 4 out of the 5 days ~ still between 19 and 20 minutes each way. I have chosen different routes to walk, but on Friday as I was cutting through a trail, I passed a 'gentleman' in his bathrobe walking his two dogs. He probably is used to nipping out to do this without running into anyone...although I had my camera, I didn't think it would be quite polite to snap his photo! It was a funny and unexpected sight though! :)

The weather was a bit brighter during the week, but still not very warm. I hardly took any photos until this weekend when I spotted a sure sign of spring in my garden. (I had to quickly change my template because the purple text with the violets melded into the blue background.)

On Saturday, my son and I worked in the house and garage, managing to do some more spring cleaning. On Saturday night, there was really a gale blowing, and we were wondering if the power was going to go out. However it did its job by blowing the clouds away, and today was glorious. I spent most of the morning outside tidying up and spreading some sea soil around. Many birds were twittering in the trees, but I raked up lots of nest-making debris that seems to have been passed by.

In the afternoon, I decided to go for a drive as I haven't been far from home all week. Here are some photos of my afternoon in a slide show format. The ones of the crows aren't very close for the most part, but they were diving about making a heck of a racket ~ protecting nests no doubt.

How was your weekend?

  1. You have a different template... nice!

Beautiful pictures in here as always :)

Weekends become so boring for me, stuck at home, mostly in front of TV or computer. Haven't walked for quite some times..

  2. Hi Selby ~ I just added a note to say that I changed my template because the purple text I made around the violet couldn't be seen on the blue background! I have to go to bed now, as I promised myself to get to bed at 10 p.m. ... haha

Do you have room to jump with a skipping rope?? LOL ~ good exercise!

  3. I like this layout as I find it easy on the eyes when looking at it!
It's good to see that you had a productive and relaxing weekend.
There are lots of crows here, which have been pairing up and nest building.
I mostly stayed at home as Saturday was cold and wet, it even hailed, and although sunny yesterday there was a chill wind.
    Have a good week! xx

  4. Hi Flighty ~

I like the layout OK, too, but I haven't had much time to figure out how to get the header centered, etc.

After a work week, it is good to get some things done around the place, especially when a son is home and can help!

Sorry to hear your weekend weather was wintry, but I read that you had a good day today plotting, which is great :) Our weather is noticeably cooler than the norm ~ one day of sun every so often just so a person can keep hoping ...before the next windy wet day!

The week is off to a busy start, and no doubt will be this way until the end of June when all the kids miraculously disappear into thin air :)

  5. Ooh I love the mountainous photos.

And the quote around the violets.

Was your background black before? Because if it was (I know, I can't remember), then I feel bad that mine is and it might be hard on the eyes as Flighty says?

Sorry you're still getting chilly weather. We had wind howling round the buildings on Sunday, I think.

  6. Funny you should say this. I see an elderly lady walking her dog in dressing gown and slippers some mornings, when walking to catch my train! Purple and white violets are flowering in my garden right this very minute. x
