It’s rather pleasant to be able to go for a walk or a drive during my pre-retirement work time! Mild temperatures and the sight of my neighbour’s palm tree set me in a holiday mood, as I meandered around the neighbourhood taking a few photos along the way.
A few robins were flying in and out of a cedar tree, landing on a holly bush and then flitting off again. I think they knew I was trying to take photos because they played hard to get! The berries were more showy anyway!
Farther along, I spotted a heart rock on the pavement ~
I heard a plane overhead ~ here is another look at the Cessna.
Down by the beach, a bald eagle was surveying its surroundings, and it was easy to see fresh snow on the mountains.
I noticed a moon sliver peeking from far above as it, too, must have realized that the day was too good to miss!
Yes, a very pleasant day ~
Saturday promised to be just as lovely and it was!
I noticed the buds on the mock orange bush near the front door.
~ trees silhouetted against a sunlit cloud
~ puffy clouds pretending to be mountains
~ and wispy clouds feathering the sky.
Very relaxing and the fresh air did me good as I looked up, down and all around!
Oh those silly birds -- you'd think they'd be used to you by now and simply pose! But you did very well -- I like the one with the berries in the foreground. Looks like you had a beautiful clear day with blue skies to complement all the other beauties around.
ReplyDeleteWalking, looking and enjoying like that has to be one of life's best, and simple, pleasures!
ReplyDeleteIt's been better here over the weekend but nowhere near as nice as this! Flighty xx
Hi Nikki ~ That's exactly what I thought ~ "Silly birds"! I think the one you liked is the best as well. It was a lovely couple of days ~ now we're back to grey and wet!
ReplyDeleteHi Flighty ~ You are quite right and I'm pleased I was out and about during those two days because it has now returned to wet and windy winter! Hopefully the sun won't forget to come back!
Lovely photos here Glo. Very nice to see the berries, most have been eaten here by the desperate birds in the recent spell of bad weather. As you mentioned Robins, I assume that was one in the photo, so very different from ours and bigger also.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed seeing the Winter Flowering Jasmine, the line of ducks and the spectacular sky photo on the previous post and also the snow frog earlier :)
Hi ShySongbird ~ I'm so glad you enjoyed the photos. Yes, that is one of our robins, as you say much different than the ones over there. I was surprised at how many berries there were on that bush! We haven't had a huge amount snow this year so the birds are probably able to find lots of seeds and other natural food around. I'm pleased you enjoyed my other postings and photos, too :) Thanks for coming by and leaving such a lovely comment.
ReplyDeleteHey, it's still snowing on your blog!
