  1. Hahaha, where did he get that hat? ;)

I can smell that snow, by the way. In fact, despite my earlier comments I am sort of looking forward to the first snowfall, the silence that precedes it, and the extra cosiness you feel at home, with egg nog and hot tea and cookies.

  2. Ahhh what anice hat! I bet his mum made him wear it before he came out even though the other birds would laugh! :o)
What beautiful pics Glo. A proper Winters Tale! :o)

  3. Brrr! It all looks a touch cold to me!
I can't find anything on that bird! Are you sure that's what it is?
*ducks as a snowball heads my way* xx

  5. Again.. beautiful pictures!!! And.. oh my.. that cute little bird wearing red hat!

You know what Glo, you are making me so envy with your place of living... so calm, beautiful, not like the big cities where as high pollution, bad traffic, crowded, etc.

I wish I could find a place like yours for my retirement days :)

  7. Liv ~ Birds are smart! They know that heat escapes through the head, so the bird in the hat in particular is setting a new trend, I think. Usually our snow comes and goes, but this one is accompanied by a cold stretch for about a couple of weeks at least. The snow is still here and is beautiful :) It is cosy indeed snuggled up by the fire at home ~ with the goodies you describe :)

Daffy ~ hahaha ~ His mum is using her bird brain then, because it is freezing here! I like the idea of birds laughing, even if they are joshing red cap himself! Thanks ~ the snow is still white and beautiful.

Flighty ~ Well, indeed it is cold, freezing actually, but looks beautiful on all the trees and mountains. Sorry I should have given a link to explain the bird adaptation ~ http://birdnoggin.wordpress.com/

Nice try at ducking, but *splat*, I gotcha! Now I better duck!

Yolanda ~ Yes, it is an unusual seasonal bird :) Glad you enjoyed my photos.

Selba ~ you're right about thinking of this as a retirement choice. Many have the same idea ~ but we also have young families to balance things out. Glad you are enjoying my photos :)

Nikki ~ Thanks ;) There was another beautiful sight this morning on my way to work ~ the sunrise was striped with red, but I didn't think it was wise to fiddle with the camera while driving, although I was tempted. No place to pull over on the highway with all the snowbanks, so I just enjoyed looking at it. In the evening when the sky is clear, the sunsets and trees seem to illuminate ~ glad you enjoyed looking at the photos.

  8. Another visual feast. Keep it coming Glo! That little birdie must be an early shopper.

  9. Why is it that something as 'colourless' as snow, has such an effect on the colour of the scenery, and seem to give extra colours we never see at any other times?

  10. Hi Roomie ~ Your wish is my command ! more photos posted today. I guess it must be a take on the other saying, "The early shopper gets the cap!"

Hello Harry ~ Yes, snow definitely adds a special effect! I found this site interesting ~ http://www.nsidc.colorado.edu/snow/faq.html
