Beautiful blossoms, bluebells and beach

It has been absolutely lovely this week, with the sun shining and the temps between 15 - 19 C. The mornings start out about 4C but it nicely warms up by the afternoon. The evening was so beautiful last night and tonight, filled with a delicate scent of blossoms. It was impossible not to go for a walk! Here are some photos ~ views of flowers and scenery through the neighbourhood, to the bluebell woods and down to the beach:

  1. What a lovely way to end a week of good weather!
I rather fancy dipping my toes in the ocean but I bet that the water is still rather cold!
It's been good here as well so I've been plotting every day, the results you'll see in tomorrow's post.
    Have a good weekend! xx

  3. Mmm lilac. Oh spring flowers are just wonderful.

I love the juxtaposition of snowy with tropical in the first photo.

  4. Hi Flighty ~ yes, perfect weather, which has somehow flown the coop for the weekend! Actually Saturday was windy and wet, and today (Sunday) has been temperamental ~ I was edging the front garden in the sunshine, when the biggest black cloud approached, and with a huge thunderclap hailed and poured! You never saw anybody leap as quickly as I did. I quickly grabbed my gardening tools and ran for the house, not before I was soaked through of course! Getting back to sun dipped toes, the little pools near the seashore are quite warm after sitting in the sun for awhile, but certainly nothing like the summery warm water's edge!

Hi Daffy ~ Lilacs are lovely, eh? Another lovely fragrance of spring. Thanks for your kind words about my photography ~ :)

  7. Mmmmm! If you showed fifty lilac photos, I'd look at them all! I smiled at your photo of incongruity and realized that we get that in January when our mountains get that smattering of snow while the myriad palm trees wave their fronds in the foreground. Love those bluebell blooms, too -- so sweet and delicate.

  10. I messed up the last comment so deleted and will try again!

Hi Yolanda ~ Blossoms galore is right, and thoroughly enjoying them...the rain and wind have been with us since Sunday! The cherry blossoms went scurrying and now confetti carpets the back garden! I think the bees have come to frantically see if there's anything left because the tree is buzzing! However, the pear and apple trees are still in the first stages of blossom, so hopefully they will have a longer lifespan.

Hi Nikki ~ I'll be looking out for lilac blossoms for you on my walks :) I thought the palm and snowy photos looked a lot more LA than here! It's nice to see bluebells from all over the world via blogs :)

Thanks NWG :) Spring is especially beautiful here, I think ~ the splashes of colour and mixed fragrances are wonderful ~ Many people come and visit here for vacations, and to retire, so it's pleasant to be living here all year round :)
