Getting your feet wet!

With all of this lovely summer weather, today it's time to get our feet wet, so off with the shoes, and enjoy the warmth of the water ~

Last night, the sunset was amazing because the sun dropped behind a cloud, and then returned before settling behind the hills ~

I'm enjoying having the time off, being able to get caught up on some things that need doing, such as having the piano tuned! I mowed the front and back lawns today, baked some bread ~ went back to the library (once again!). Checking out the beach, doing some work around the house and garden, relaxing on the lounge reading ~ that's the best of summer holidays!

Yesterday I visited my friend at her farm, and she showed me her garden and her vast quantity of peas ~ they're not quite ready yet, but they seemed to go on forever!

Later the two of us went out for a lovely dinner at one of our favorite pubs ~ I didn't take in my camera, but I should have because the generous sized raspberry and blueberry pie we had for dessert looked and tasted delicious. After dinner, we drove to see a live production of Oklahoma, thanks to the reference on Yolanda's blog entry at Bliss.

The bright clear days continue ~ Life is good!

  1. The tide lapping gently really does look cooling and relaxing. I could just do with a paddle as my feet are hot having just cut all the grass here.

What beautiful sunsets. The dark cloud adds drama to the scene and the boat give perspective.

It looks like that Canada is a very beautiful place to live :)

  3. I wouldn't dream of suggesting that you're taunting me with a paddle in the warm sea but I'm sure that you can hear me sighing when I watch the video!
What wonderful photos of a terrific sunset!
That's the best way to grow peas...in quantity!
It's good to see that you're relaxing and enjoying your break doing all the sorts of things that I'd do, except baking bread. xx

  5. Where does the time go? You'd think I was on holidays,or something...oh, right, I am!

John ~ A paddle in the water (although they call it 'wading' here) would be a perfect way to relieve hot feet! Our weather continues to be warm (hot!) and the ocean seems to be very popular with the local population and the tourists ~ still not crowded though. Glad you enjoyed the sunsets ~ and thanks for your kind comments :)

Hi Selby ~ you can click on the little photos and they will become larger as well. I'm pleased you enjoy seeing photos of my part of the world. Canada is a beautiful and very large country, and each Province has special features.

Hi Flighty ~ Summer at the seaside (well every season at the seaside for me) ~ it is good for the soul (and sole ~ not the fish). You could fill a bowl with warm water, add salt and close your eyes and think you had your feet in the sea. I think the heat must be getting to me! LOL Yes, I'm having a very relaxing time...even bread making is easy, because I just put the ingredients in the bread maker, push a couple of buttons, and it's ready in 3 hours. ;) My friend's garden is her pride and joy, and she spends many hours before reaping the benefits. Hard work that pays off!

Hi Nikki ~ Yes, thanks, lovely sunsets that continue with this lovely weather ~ although cloud does add a dramatic difference. There'll be a lot of shelling going on down at the farm before long! Yes, great food at the pub...did I mention the crab cakes before that succulent dessert? Yum!
