More Shenanigans

A couple of days ago I went back to check on the salmon, seals, eagles etc., however due to poor planning on my part, both of my cameras held batteries that died in minutes.  The lighting wasn't very good anyway, and the ground near the trail was slippery...which I know for a fact because I slid and fell forward onto my knees.  Luckily, it was a soft landing and other than a sore muscle in my right leg, I'm none the worse.

Falling down rekindled in my memory, the picture that Adrian painted as he tried to slog through a muddy field. Strangely enough when reading the latest issue of the Funny Farm, I came across this article with photo.

I obviously seem to have too much time on my hands...well, I am resting my leg.  Recent efforts of mine, Legendary Exploits (Adrian), Whodunit (Flighty), and A Fowl Night (Mrs. Nesbitt), indicate that the weather is not conducive to spending much time outdoors.

I did notice this chap before my batteries died: (click on him and he'll move his head ;))

and it's possible that this lot were laughing at my tumble...of all the gall gull!

To finish off, Flighty's birthday was a couple of days ago, and as he prepares to write his novel, I just wanted to send a special birthday wish with sprinkles of good luck!

  1. Many thanks once again.....excellent.
I'll not show it to Racheal...she is about six stone wet through.
I am glad I'm not the only one to wander out with dead batteries.

    1. You're welcome...Oh dear, sorry about the hefty remark, Rachael. Wise to keep quiet, Adrian. Batteries are now all restored and waiting for the rain to stop.

  2. Thanks for another creative, and entertaining, post.
I think that we've all ended up with dead camera batteries, usually at the wrong time.
That field looks a bit like the plot has been at times this year!
Thanks for the extra birthday wishes, and sprinkles of good luck which I'm sure I'm going to need.
    Flighty xx

    1. Hi Flighty ~ glad you enjoyed the post. It's interesting that both cameras had dead batteries at the same time. One camera holds 4 rechargeable AA batteries and the other is a single plug in type. Anyway, we are good to go again. Yes, the UK certainly suffered through a rainy summer. Hope your birthday meal is yummy on Sunday, and you're welcome for the extra sprinkling of birthday wishes.

  3. The battery thing is always happening to me but more often when I need to photograph something I have fogotten the camera altogether. I laughed at the welly stuck in the mud - I once was out walking and came across a pair of bright yellow wellies stuck in the mud, all on their own. Wonder how the owner made it home and how far they had to go with nothing on their feet.

    1. Elaine, If I look at the side of dual carriageways I find loads of trainers and socks. How do folk lose clothing whilst driving?

    2. The other thing I need to be aware of is how full the SD cards are before I head out. Sometimes I don't download the photos right away so don't want to have a full card when out wandering about. The stuck yellow wellies gives a vivid picture. Yes, it is a wonder how all this escaped clothing appears scattered about!

  4. My first visit - had to see who has been fiddling with Adrian's hats, not to mention his shoes and socks. Glad to see I'm in good company when I feel let down by my batteries - it's never my fault, it's those darn batteries!

    1. Hi Nikki! Yes, I have recovered nicely from the fall...although it might be that the plate I dropped on my foot may have redirected my focus. (My toe bled, then bruised, and the plate broke in half) Geesh!
