Journey to the Sun!

The forecast is for sun!

Photobucket

Well, what is this then?
Photobucket

and this?

Photobucket

even Photoshop didn't help!

Photobucket

Enough of the fog ~ time to journey to the sun...

We didn't have to go far before we saw the blue sky and sunshine ~

Photobucket

Looking back we could see where the bank of fog began (or ended) ~

Photobucket

A clear blue sky ~

Photobucket

However, the dark grey ridge of fog was noticeable along the coastline and against the mountains ~

Photobucket

We drove on in the sunshine ~

Photobucket

We decided to drive up a mountain road, and saw an interesting sight ~ a women on roller blades being assisted up the road by her team!

Photobucket

Nice to see the clear sky, sunshine, and snow ~

Photobucket

However, soon the road became a bit slippery, so we decided to turn back ~

Photobucket

Back towards the fog ~

Photobucket

and into the foggy village ~

Photobucket

where everything was socked in ~

Photobucket

and where did the beach go?!

Photobucket

Although it was lovely to see the sunshine, fog can be beautiful too!

Photobucket

The weekly forecast ~ well, we'll just have to wait and see what it really turns out to be ~

  1. It's amazing how the weather can be so contrasting over a short distance and/or time!
I like the beach photo and that minimalist blue sky one!
I guess that it was good to get out but reckon that you wish you'd been able to go to the beach for a walk.
Have a good week and fingers crossed for some sunshine both there and here! xx

  2. I would love a bit sunshine. Just a weeny bit would help! We have had cold temps, frost, snow, gloom and rain for weeks now... I know it's winter but I'd like once of those bright, cold, sunny days that I've seen on the movies. :o)
Your pics are very lovely... You have caught some interesting images there, almost eery looking.

  3. What a fun drive—for me at least! Wow, that fog is thickkkkkk. I don't like driving in that! Hey that "all blue" picture gave me a laugh. Beautiful blue sky. The gal with her "dog team" was cute. Lots of great shots Glo. Hope the sun comes to your place soon.

  4. Ahhh! The early shot of the tree with dripping rain -- so pretty, but not if you're expecting SUN! Wouldn't it be fun to have a window that would photoshop what you see? When you want sun, it would add the "sunny California" filter!

  5. Lovely pictures as always. I especially like the header photo, with all those lovely sunset splashes.

We're having very much the same weather, except that 8 and 9 are still beyond our reach!

  6. Hi Flighty ~ well, the fog has stayed around and become something bone-chilling called "freezing fog". I have decided that the weather network has need to improve their keyboarding skills...as you may notice the s-u-n keys aren't far from the f-o-g keys! Walking will have to wait until it warms up, however I hear snow flurries are possible on Saturday ~ flurries in the past have ended up being 12 inches deep ;)

Hi Daffy ~ I think the sun is on vacation ~ at least from this area, and yours from the sounds of it. People have been up skiing on the mountains, however, and say it has been gloriously sunny and not unbearably cold! Glad you enjoyed my photos ~ I haven't taken any lately because it is all grey and frosty.

Hi Roomie ~ Great to have you along for the ride :) I'm glad I saw that blue sky when I did, because I haven't seen it since! I won't be looking at the weather network anymore ~ I'm just going to look out of he window ;)

Hi Nikki ~ Love your idea of the sunny photoshopped window ~ in fact I've been visualizing it to keep me happy during this grey frosty foggy weather!

Hi Liv ~ Glad you like the morning sunrise ~ I haven't seen one like it since because of the fog!

It's definitely a wintry winter! Spring will eventually arrive ~ in a couple of months :)

  7. Even though it was fingertip-freezingly cold today, I felt a lightness in the air, almost like Spring was beginning to consider peeping in.
