On the sixth day of December

Two posts in one day!  If you haven't seen my previous post, 'Twas', you might enjoy the poem especially if you have read Snowbird's escapades in her recent post Hickory dickory dock....

Now on to Nature's sharing today ...

No more snow to speak of, but crisp, clear and cold!  So cold it had the Hummingbird acting quite frantically, and me too!  Rather than explain the goings on, I have put together a slide show with commentary to share the experience ~

  1. Wow.. such drama. It was kind of heart-tugging to see the hummer looking for the feeder. Thank you for so kindly looking out for these wee gems. You are also a gem. :)

    1. Hi Hilary ~ Yes, I was worried while it was looking for the feeder, waiting for the nectar to cool down. Very rarely the temperatures stay below zero for long, so this is a bit unusual. Thanks for the kind words :)

  3. It seems strange to me to see humming birds in a cold climate I associate them in my mind with tropical climes

    1. Yes, Elaine ~ it definitely doesn't seem right when the temperatures are below zero ~ it is going to warm up a bit soon!

  5. Glo to the rescue! What a nice variety of feathered friends you've got visiting on this cold crisp day, too. I love that one with the spots on its breast.

    1. Hi Nikki ~ Well, the little guy is still humming, so hopefully I helped :) More varieties today on another crisp one. The Northern Flicker has beautiful colouring, doesn't it?
