The Trumpeter Swans have arrived for their winter stay ~ a swan song on a different note. Their 'trumpets' can be heard on the posted video taken yesterday.
Thanks, John. The swans have such a wide wingspan so I was happy to capture the photo that showed off the feathers. They were splashing and doing all sorts of weird maneuvers, so I'll have to see if I can get a few more of more downloaded photos sorted.
Thanks, Nikki ~ the sound of their wings as they were approaching was amazing ~ some years back I was there in foggy conditions and I could hear their wings beating so loudly as they came towards me! Something I'll never forget!
Cracking first photo Glo. Enlarged all the feather detail shows beautifully.

DeleteTrumpeter Swans - I remember an incident - involving myself, some pupils and some swans! Hmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteI can imagine that the incident was most memorable!
DeleteFantastic shot of them in the air, Glo!

DeleteThe first shot is a beauty. We get them here but it's years since I got close to any. Great to see them.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the photo, Adrian. They are such beautiful creatures that it isn't too difficult to take a good photo!
DeleteSo lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks greenthumb ~ pleased that you enjoyed the photos.
DeleteI agree with John about the first photo. Lovely, if somewhat noisy birds. Flighty xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Flighty ~ They are majestic birds, and their trumpeting and head bobbing are entertaining ~ yes, sometimes it's a noisy place, but very cool!
