The rainy day turned into a pleasant evening for Hallowe'en, which encouraged little ghouls and boos to trick and treat through the neighbourhood. How cute they were - and so polite!
Over at
Nikki's blog, a lovely new chair has been chosen to join the family. Sammy has taken a particular liking to it, so much so, in fact, that her muse (or mews) had a little word with me...with a slight touch of
Dr. Seuss...
Happy November!
I can see you are still as entertainingly creative as ever Glo :-) Love the chair and verse and also the post showing Adrian in the mud!
ReplyDeleteIt poured with rain all evening here so we were spared Halloween trick or treaters who are often older and more impolite than your attractive little callers.
Sorry to read of your fall and also the plate dropping incident, I'm glad it was only the plate which broke and not the foot!
Happy November Glo :-) Where has this year gone? Oh yes, it disappeared while I waited for the Summer which never arrived :-(
Thanks for your lovely comment, ShySongbird, and pleased to hear you enjoyed my efforts :) I am grateful to live in an area where the youngsters seem to enjoy good fun without causing any disruption There is also a community gathering during the evening where they are treated to free hot chocolate, hot dogs, a walk through a spooky trail, and fireworks put on by the Fire Dept. It all turns out to be very family oriented.
DeleteThanks, I have recovered nicely from my fall, and toe injury which really turned a lovely shade of purple! ;) Yes, the year has simply sped along ~ hopefully next year your spring and summer will be much more cooperative :)
What fantastic pics of the children all rigged out for Halloween, I do like the werewolf! Smashin he is!
ReplyDeleteLove the chair and the verse.
And finally....have a WONDERFUL birthday! xxxxx
I'm pleased you liked the trick or treaters, and yes, I thought the makeup on the werewolf was very well done. I also loved reading about your Halloween and how it kind of backfired, you might say ;) I'm glad you enjoyed the chair and verse and thanks so much for the birthday wishes :)
DeleteToo cute.. the kidlets and your Seussiness. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilary! The colder weather has brought me inside to play :)
DeleteGlo!!! What an amazing poet you are. So fun and funny :) You certainly have Sammy sized up well. Your chair fabric is amazing too. I LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteHello Roomie! So nice to read your very kind comment and I'm always happy to share some fun :) Sammy must be a material kind of girl, LOL
DeleteP.S. Have a WONDERFUL birthday Glo. I hope your year is terrific!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the birthday wishes ~ I had a lovely day, and here's hoping for a terrific year, thanks.
DeleteYou have certainly had a CREATIVE birthday! Roomie and I LOVED LOVED LOVED your illustration and poem. We are thinking of printing it out and framing it above the chair ;-) Definitely one of my Five Faves this Friday. Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome! The 'mews' persisted early birthday morning before I even headed to bed, so had to get it all finished up for posting! I'm so happy Roomie and you loved my little creation enough to consider framing it. Wow! ~ and even making the fff's...now that's a great birthday gift :)
DeleteWhat a delightful post! Hope you had a wonderful birthday, Mo x
ReplyDeleteThanks Mo! Glad you enjoyed this post, and yes I did have a great birthday :)
DeleteAnother delightful, and brilliant, post. The illustration and verse is wonderful, all the more so as Sammy is my favourite furry friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you liked the ecard and rose, and hope that you had a most enjoyable day. Flighty xx
Thanks, Flighty :) That Sammy is precious, isn't she, and I know she's a pet of yours as well.
DeleteThe ecard was lovely and the rose so sweet ~ thanks for adding to my happy day :)
I love the way that a single thing like a new chair and a cat can spark of your poetic muse - hope you had a good birthday.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elaine. Never quite know when a poem or idea might pop up ~ it's fun though. Thanks for the birthday wishes ~ it was a great day!
DeleteHere from nikkipolani's -- that poem and illustration are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you for dropping by Barbara ~ always a pleasure to see someone from Nikki's site. I'm pleased you enjoyed my efforts :)
DeleteI have always loved the Dr Seuss books and I'm sure with your talents you could produce some rival literature.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your kind words, John. I better get cracking, then, eh? ;) I bet you like the Shel Silverstein books also.
