Summer Sunshine

The summer weather continues to be perfect here,  and therefore I have been spending a lot of time outdoors ~ not going too far (only as far as the back garden and deck some days). Very relaxing! ... I've taken trips to the beach, to the woodland gardens, to a village fair, and more trips to the library ~ I even read two novels in one day!

The cherries and Bandido have disappeared. Bandido won the cherry picking award this year ...

I compensated by buying a bag of fresh cherries from the market ~

To join in the feeling of just how relaxing it is around here, dip your toes ~ as we welcome August!

  1. That all looks and sounds rather idyllic, and very relaxing!
I sometimes read one book in a day but very rarely two.
That beach looks very welcoming and I'd even be tempted to dip my toes providing the water isn't that cold!

  2. No wonder you can hardly pull yourself away to sit at a computer screen! Loving those blue blue skies.

  3. Bandido certainly 'deserved' his award. The beach looks very inviting, just perfect for a paddle to cool off tired hot feet.

  4. Hi Flighty ~ We are fortunate to have lovely weather and indeed it is so pleasant and relaxing - hard to beat!
The two books I read that day took me well into the early morning! I don't think much else was accomplished that day.
The water is pleasantly warm, especially at the edges. People were swimming, so it seems as if the water was refreshing.

Hi Nikki ~ Yes, heavenly weather, which encourages spending much of the time outdoors :)

Hi John ~ Yes, Bandido won, hands down! We used to get buckets of cherries when the tree was younger, and the weather conditions were cooperative. We had such a cool wet spring, that things were thrown off schedule!

Although there are more visitors to the beach during the summer, there is still a lot of clear beach to walk along and enjoy a paddle/wade in the water :)
