Cabin fever?

I do see signs of spring, but March began like the middle of winter.  The garage roof of the house across the street was an indication of how much snow fell overnight...no steaming roof this time!

The solar light on the back deck railing sported a snow cap.

The robins have been plentiful, but would much prefer a bit of Spring cleaning of any remainders of winter's chill.

Squirrel's curiosity got the better of him ~

"What next?" wonders the hummingbird ~

A Spotted Towhee joins the hunt for food in the front garden  ~
Trees in the back ~

Today, it had warmed up to about 8C, so I ventured out to the estuary ~ Brrrr

If you read my previous post, you would have noticed Queen Bee, as part of my Bee Well Basket ~ Today, I'm introducing a new member of the Beeline, a little less oinkish ;) ~

That's why I thought I better get out today ~ turning lemons into bees, whether real or plastic versions, might indicate that I am spending too much time indoors, even though there are two more real lemons and one plastic one still waiting in the wings. ;)

  1. It will soon be a distant memory. It has been a miserable excuse for a winter here.

    1. Cold snaps are not something we look forward to as spring is sproinging ~ so hopefully the days will warm and brighten up!

  5. It definitely seems to be a very long winter for you guys in the US. Much as I like snow (and we don't get much of it)I'm sure come March I would be fed up. Lovely photos btw.

    1. Not as bad for us up in Canada on the west coast, fortunately, but we have had a couple of snow storms, although they didn't last long. Just get a bit fed up of the chilly wet weather sometimes...but the sun soon comes to cheer us up :)

Brrrrr....I'm shivering just thinking of all that snow, hopefully this is winter's final fling and spring is on it's way.
Your robin is wonderful, so much bigger than ours and I simply loved the Spotted Towhee...what a wonderful wee bird.xxx

    1. :) Well, Honeybee and her two friends are now sharing their zesty selves in a luscious lemon bar :) The sun has been shining for the last couple of days and I have brightened up the front with some colourful primulas ~ Glad you enjoyed the photos ... and the birds, too.

  7. Brilliant illustrated poem Glo.
You had better not read about our near 20˚C today.
Snow looks picturesque, outside, but enough is enough.

  8. Most optimists will turn lemons into lemonade. Not Glo! She takes it way beyond that. You're a hoot. :)

  9. I was sure I'd commented on your last post but clearly I didn't because I'd've remembered those bee well treats! I'm sure your creativity brought some of the best medicine -- a smile or five!

It's nice to look at snow from a warm distance ;-) There was a bit of overnight snow when I was in Denver last week. But the sun came out and melted it all the next day. I wonder how the rest of your spring will proceed. Hopefully not interrupted with surprise winter!
