Mid March

I wasn't home long, when off I went again! This time I drove to Victoria because it was my youngest son's birthday. I decided to stay for a few days, hence my absence from the blog ~ although I did have wifi and my laptop with me. We had a great time, and managed to get together with other family members as well.

Before I left home I took a couple of photos in the garden ~  buzzing crocus and budding apricot branches.

Also, before I left, I visited 'where the river meets the sea', and took these photos: I think the seabird is a sandpiper.

When in Victoria, I visited the park and this time took some bird seed. Before long, I had an entourage of quacking feathers:

The spring flowers were coming along well ~

These were pretty:

Various trunks got in the picture:

There were a few serious photographers in the park, but I got quite a kick out this scene for some reason:

One more photo ~ a trio I saw sitting on a bench near a shopping mall ~ I think somehow the Alice in Wonderland 3-D characters were so lifelike, they escaped from the screen... Otherwise I have no explanation ~

Since returning home, I have started Spring Cleaning ~ and believe me, no one wants to see photos of that process! Hopefully I'll get a lot done before the weather calls me outside into the garden.

  1. Another wonderful 'two cups' post well worth waiting for!
It's looks like you had another enjoyable few days away.
Your mild winter sure has given everything a head start there hasn't it!
I spring cleaned the plot shed on Monday as you'll see soon! Flighty xx

  2. It certainly look like Spring has sprung over there.
Love the top view of the ducks feeding. Very artistic. I hope you weren't wearing sandals.
Like the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts.

  3. Hi Flighty ~ We are still enjoying pleasant weather, although the mornings have been frosty. I enjoyed your spring cleaned shed post!

Hi John ~ Yes, spring is here, although winter is nipping in with its morning frost. That's funny about the sandals! Not quite that warm yet, thank goodness! The Wonderland crew was interesting ~ I especially liked the clock!

  4. "Quacking feathers" is a perfect caption for that photo! I could tell there were beaks and feathers and ducks involved, but it took a while ;-) That trunk with the horizontal banding is unique looking. As is your scene of professional photographers, tripods and all. There were a few heavy laden photographers at the arboretum when I visited. I wished I could chat with them, but they seemed to have a "do not disturb" air.

Hopefully, your spring cleaning is over now and you are free to catch up on your garden's progress!

  5. Kwacking photos Glo! You sure have been living it up of late. I started Spring cleaning on return from our holiday too. Isn't it lovely to see the garden coming to life again. x

  6. Hi Nikki ~ Sorry to be so long in responding ~ I have been off again! Although my spring cleaning is not completed (like the garage for instance, blech), I am spending time outside as well. Glad you enjoyed the photos, and you're right, the photographers seem very purposeful in the way they carry their cameras and tripods...I guess it is important that they are focused...ahem.

Hi Louise ~ Well, I have been getting around, that's true! Not too far from home, though. It is wonderful to see the garden coming to life as nature springs into action!
