Hummingbird on Valentine's Day

Here's a little Hummingbird slideshow for Valentine's Day :)  The photos were taken at my hummingbird feeder and at the Winter Jasmine bush near my front door.

  6. I bet they look even more colourful on a sunny day - I wouldn't think they would get much sustenance from a jasmine flower - lucky for them you have feeders.

  8. Hi Glo, As I like to comment from my iPad (I find it much quicker) I was disappointed to find there was a blank space where the video should have been however, all was fine on the laptop :-) Anyway, what a lovely series, they are beautiful!! The Hummingbird is, as I'm sure I've said many times, the bird I would most like to see here, they are just exquisite. I always thought we didn't have them here because of our cold climate but the fact you see them there and in the Winter too disproves that idea...I would love to know why we don't have them...any ideas?

    1. Hi ShySongbird ~ I know you love this little bird, so I'm so glad you enjoyed the photos. I've been doing a bit of googling, and it seems that because the hummingbird evolved in the Americas, it continues to live here. The Anna hummingbird is the only one that stays in this area during winter.
